Corner lot garden of a mid century house with a shady yard underneath an enormous Elm tree. A concrete walkway and low cinder block fence were removed and the rubble (urbanite) was reused as garden edging. The dry grass was solarized, and new open wood fencing was put up with native and drought tolerant plants around a stone patio and bubbling concrete fountain with Juncus that draws all sorts of birds, lizards, and neighborhood creatures.

A wood pergola was installed on the back patio that mirrors the size of the room directly inside the residence, and is covered with a native Grape vine. Extra wood left over from the fence project artfully covers a bare cinder block wall and is home to native Valley Carpenter bees. A gorgeous Louis Edmunds Manzanita has nicely matured in the rear yard, creating privacy for the dining patio, and stands regally above various native succulent Dudleya specimens.

A full sized catio in the side yard built around a Sugar Bush allows the cats to spend time outside. There are swings and a treehouse for the kids and a Little Free Library for the neighborhood, and SO many native plants, especially Buckwheats, Wild Rye Grass, Sages and more to support local wildlife.
