Originally from Chicago, Tricia studied painting and installation art and holds a BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and worked as a designer for 20+ years in the film and photography industries. She brings a resourcefulness, keen design eye, and ability to envision and transform challenging spaces and conditions into her work in the outdoor world and truly enjoys building creative spaces for creative people. She has many years of 3D design under her belt but was excited about moving into the fourth dimension: working with live material that changes over time, and wanted to contribute to a hopeful, sustainable future, so made the move into landscape architecture in 2011.

Tricia is a licensed landscape architect (CA license #6545) and holds a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture, awarded with Distinction, from UCLAx. While there she received the prestigious Joseph Linesch Memorial Scholarship and was awarded a Certificate of Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

An avid plantswoman, she is very interested in creating habitat rich spaces in the urban landscape, has a natural sensitivity to space, context, and form and has always loved a good challenge. She understands the importance of layering and framing vistas and views, concealing and revealing choice elements, combining contrasting textures and forms, and finds particular enjoyment finding plants and materials that work for the exact environment at hand while meeting her clients’ needs, desires, and budget.

She was named a Blazing Star Volunteer for her work with the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants, and is a board member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, where she has been the Liaison to Students since 2022. She co-founded the Green Team at Aldama Elementary in Highland Park in 2017 and designed a conceptual Master Plan through a grant with the National Park Service, and is working with LAUSD to secure and implement a $100k SEEDS greening grant for the school that was recently awarded.

Tricia is a lifelong learner and is a member of the Southern California Horticultural Society, and also serves on the Guidance Committee of the Landscape Architecture Department at UCLAx and is a frequent guest critic there. She completed the Resilient/ Regenerative Firescaping course with ASLA in 2025 and has worked with Campion Walker Landscapes, Sanctuary Landscape Architecture, Ecocentrix Landscape Architecture, and Fleur Nooyen and Associates on many large hillside residential estates from Topanga to La Cañada Flintridge. She has been based in NELA since 2003 and loves spending time outside with her husband and 2 young kids.
